David Satter is a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute and a visiting scholar at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). He served as Moscow correspondent of the Financial Times of London from 1976 to 1982 and is the author of two books, "Age of Delirium: the Decline and Fall of the Soviet Union," and "Darkness at Dawn: the Rise of the Russian Criminal State." He is presently working on a book about the Russian attitude toward the communist past.
